Questions regarding broom fabrics to be used in competitions

There has been a lot of questions about the sweeping regulations for the upcoming provincials. As most of you know there are new CCA regulations regarding types of fabric to be used in competitions this year. As far as the BCFFCA is concerned we will not be forcing players in our provincial to follow these rules put out by the CCA.

To let you know that as a National Curling Association the CFFCA will be enforcing the new fabric regulations at the Canadian Firefighters Curling Championships in Mississauga. What this means is that whoever qualifies for the Canadians will have to have the special fabric on their brooms at the Canadians.

Hope this clears up some confusion in this matter.

Passing of Ralph Christian

It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of one of our members. Ralph Christian was a great man who enjoyed the camaraderie of the BCFFCA. He played in 4 Playdowns and was looking forward to many more. I know he made some friends in our Association as well as the Qualicum Curling club where he was a frequent volunteer at their functions.

I would like to pass on condolences to his family and friends. He will be truly missed by all of us at the BCFFCA.
